2009 Hatteras Village Christmas Parade

The 2009 annual Hatteras Village Christmas Parade was held this year on Saturday, December 12th. There were 39 official entries, plus a few others who participated just to join in the fun and share in the spirit of the Holiday Season.

Midgett Realty’s float theme this year was “We're Dreaming of a Green Christmas” and consisted of several Christmas trees made from recycled aluminum cans, plastic bottles and paper. Staff members carried banners, and danced with recycle bins, and our jolly elf, Anthony Fletcher sang along the parade route (to the tune of White Christmas) new lyrics (promoting recycling) written by Herb “Speedy” Price entitled “Green Christmas”.

Our Reduce, Reuse, Recycle message is an ongoing effort to increase awareness of both the importance and participation of recycling on Hatteras Island. Last year alone, Midgett Realty’s vacation rental homes recycled 60 tons of material! Midgett Realty – 2009 Green Champions!
